The sea and beaches in Mauritius are one of the primary attractions, whether or not you are on a family vacation, a sporty holiday with mates or on honeymoon. Near the Capital, it's well worth visiting Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, AKA the Sri Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Gardens. They are emerald green and home to giant water lilies and exotic palm trees. Every year they are visited by many holiday makers and the local govt keeps them in perfect order. Perhaps you will be fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of the Talipot palm flower. This palm flowers once every sixty years and then dies!

Mauritius is an island and the only aeroport is in the city of Plaisance, close to the coast. If you do not like lots of car travel there are lot's of pretty spots not so far away, however the island itself is small so even if you travel by auto to the opposite end you almost certainly still won't be car-sick! There aren't any trains but taxies are freely available and rather cheap and otherwise you can go for a car hire. Buses are less expensive but are not totally comfortable to use when you are carrying lot's off baggage as to get on you have several high steps to climb. Also they don't take you to all the possible destinations, particularly if you have selected a secluded hotel.

Mauritius holidays are great if you are on honeymoon but whether or not you simply wish to relax and unwind. The length of the stay can vary from a couple of days to a couple of weeks. When planning your trip to Mauritius do not forget to make arrangements for babysitting, plant watering and pet care. A few people use house-sitters or maybe house swapping, to be completely certain that their domestic situation will be tended to while they're away and they can absolutely enjoy their holiday.

You can spend a day in Black River Gorges State Park,well famous for the numerous animal species you can see and especially the many varieties of colorful birds which make the Park seem like a modern Garden of Eden.
